Honda is a car that is known world wide. It has many fans, and many people are proud that they support the Honda name. Do you know how Honda came about? There is a reason why it has molded itself into one of the most trusted and reliable auto manufacturers the world has seen.
A Brief History of Honda Automotives
Although Honda is by far one of the youngest vehicle brands, time has proven and tested this brand to be one of the most reliable and best brands in the world. It all started with a dream and a vision, which is one thing that makes America what it is today. In 1946 a man called Soichiro Honda decided to open up a technical institute and make small motorcycle engines. Soichiro Honda, the man who founded and who’s name stuck with the brand successful opened up a dealership in Japan and at that point in time Honda did nothing but flourish. Within two years Honda was jumping leaps and bounds and in 1959 the first Japanese automaker was open in Los Angeles. At first the America Honda dealerships struggled, mainly because American people drove America cars, and that was that. However, as time went on Honda grew, and so did its image for the American people.
Although Honda started off with small motorcycles, lawn mowers, and other fuel-operated machines it wasn’t long before they started to build, design, and sell cars. In 1963, Honda developed a sports car and in 1964 the world was changed as Honda began to make cars and market them around the world.
In 1972 the Honda Civic, which is now one of the worlds best selling vehicles broke ground and was tried and tested to be the worlds most reliable and affordable car. Once again, Honda succeeded. Honda went on to have many awards, and in 2001 the Honda Accord was the best selling car in the United States and it was no wonder why. With the Accord’s smooth sailing, and sleek style it was a vehicle that everyone wanted and couldn’t live without.
What is Honda Now?
Most people who think of Honda think of two words, the first is Japanese and the second is reliable. Honda has effectively taken their foreign vehicle and brought it into the United States and made it one of the most reliable cars in the world. Honda now has more than 750 models and has nearly some kind of dealership in most cities around the United States. There are fans all over. Including those who love their Honda so much they want to make them as powerful and quick as possible. There is a sense of belonging to a group of people who also own a Honda. Many people love that sort of acceptance.
Honda might have started with an American Dream and a vision by Soichiro Honda but it has turned into a major competitor to the world that has managed to bankrupt just about all of the original American motor companies.
