Many people don’t know it, but some of the best economy cars in America are made by Daewoo, a division of General Motors. The Chevrolet Aveo, Suzuki Verona, Suzuki Forenza and Suzuki Reno are all Daewoo made cars that are sold under the Daewoo name in South Korea. As gas prices continue to rise it is great to see these great affordable economy cars offered under such a great name as Chevrolet.
The Daewoo made Chevrolet Aveo may not be the hottest car in the market, but for its price and fuel efficiency it can’t be matched. The Aveo is defiantly not lacking in features, the Aveo comes equipped with youth-oriented features such as an MP3-enabled audio system, faux carbon-fiber trim and bright color choices. The Aveo5 scored the highest possible rating of five stars in the front crash test, which makes me a lot more comfortable driving a small car. Besides all the great features and safety ratings the real reason I want this car is the gas mileage. The Aveo earned an amazingly high EPA rating of 27 city miles and 37 highway miles per gallon.
The Daewoo made Aveo is real a steal. The new 2006 model is looking better than ever and Daewoo is now producing the car in a sedan to go along with the hatch back. For where I am at in my life this is truly the perfect car for me.
Other Cool Daewoo Models
Tosca- The Daewoo Tosca is a mid-sized car that is build in GM’s factory in South Korea. It contains a 2.5L I6 engine that comes with five spend manual or automatic transmission. The Tosca contains powertrains, which means the car has a XK straight six engine and four wheel front drive. This is rare in cars today.
Kalos- The Kalos is a subcompact car that comes in three different forms: A 5 door hatchback, a 4 door sedan and a 3 door hatchback. The car contains a 4 speed automatic transmission or a 5 speed manual transmission. The Kalos contains a 1.6 L DOHC engine.
Lanos- The Lanos is subcompact car that Daewoo started production on in 1997. The Lanos is a subcompact car that comes in three different styles: A 5 door hatchback, a 4 door sedan or a 3 door hatchback. The Lanos has either 5 speed manual transmission or a 4 speed automatic transmission.
Magnus- The Daewoo Magnus is a mid-sized sedan and is also known as the V200. The Magnus followed the Daewoo Leganza after the Leganza was discontinued. The car comes with a Daewoo concept XK6 inline 6 engine and 4 speed automatic transmission.
